Perfection was exactly what Jose Madera envisioned when he collaborated with LP to create a bell with crisp articulate tones that would sound "fatter" and "deeper" as he progressed to the end. Furthermore, a bell that would easily access pure overtones without any one particular frequency overpowering the blend.
LP craftsmen worked the metal along the uniquely tapered bell so that it would create sounds that progress from deep, open tones to moderately sustaining middle frequencies to staccato highs. It was a tough challenge but LP nailed it to Madera's specs
The LP Salsa Big Band Bell measures 8-3/4" in length and it tapers to 2-3/4" at the mouth and delivers excellent definition. It embodies a rare combination of tuned highs and fat lows that will appeal to percussionists and drummers from all musical genres.
